How to Sign Up

You can access our online databases if you are a current MHS member. You will need your MHS Membership ID (sent to you on your new or renewal membership letter.

1. Register on the website by going to the Register page to create a Username and Password. You will use these each time you login to the website.

2. Enter your MHS Membership ID number so that we can verify that your membership is current. You should only have to enter that number once .

Keep your membership current so your access to the databases is not discontinued.

Become an MHS member.

You must be an active member of Maine Historical Society to use the Members Only databases. If you are not a member, join by purchasing a membership. As a current member, you may create an online account or use an account you have previously created to access these materials.

We currently have two databases available remotely in the Members Only Area: Portland Voter Registrations 1891–1902 and Town of Deering, Record of Naturalization Papers, 1873-1898.
